I am a Cynthiana resident who adamantly believes that we need to Ditch Mitch on November 3, 2020.
I want to share my thoughts about the KY Senate Bill 2 — commonly known as the Voter ID law. Opponents of this law including me call this the KY Voter Suppression Bill.
The number of the bill is significant — this means the bill was the second most important bill that the Kentucky Republican Senate wanted to pass during the session.
The bill’s primary sponsor was Senator Robby Mills — I can provide some information on Senator Mills on a later FB Live! And how money is central to Republican party politics. Big money!
SB 2 was drafted by our new Sec of State Michael Adams. His primary campaign promise was to root out Voter Fraud in Kentucky. Is there really a problem with voter fraud in Kentucky?

When appearing before a Senate committee taking up the bill, Adams could not cite one case of in-person voter fraud.
When questioned by the committee on why such a change shouldn’t be delayed until, say, 2021 when there are no elections he said:
“You’ve got a very competitive Senate seat and a very competitive election for essentially determining which party controls the Senate,”
He offered up how “potentially foreign actors” and others are going to be messing with the 2020 election.
“I think if there are going to be hijinks in our elections, this is going to be the year,” he said. “… We’re a national center for interest of anyone who would want to do harm for our elections. So, to me, it would be choking to not have this in place in 2020.” Personally I’m not sure how all of this is relevant.
Voter turnout generally is less than 45%. So if a person wins an election with 23% of the votes then that means 77% of the people did not vote for the winner. Should we be more concerned about making sure voters turnout rather than attempting to suppress the vote?
Can a connection be made between Adams and Mitch McConnell’s upcoming re-election?
Sec Adams attended the University of Louisville as a McConnell’s scholar, after graduating worked for Mitch, Governor Fletcher, the Bush Administration, and the Republican National Governors Association.
Did Mitch convince Adams to run for the Sec of States office with the condition that he along with the Republican controlled KY Senate and House help to pass a Voter ID law aka Voter Suppression law?
And is voter suppression a national Republican movement?
One of Donald Trump’s top re-election advisers told influential Republicans in swing state Wisconsin that the party has “traditionally” relied on voter suppression to compete in battleground states.
A conservative group is forcing Wisconsin to purge upwards of 230,000 people from state voter rolls
It’s interesting that the good people of Wisconsin’s saw through these effort and elected a Democrat to their State Supreme Court even though the number of voting locations was reduced ostensibly to control the spread of C-19.
“It is indisputable that thousands upon thousands of voters were disenfranchised,” said Ben Wikler, chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party. “Voter suppression might not be as clever as Republicans think it is. It can backfire by pissing voters off.”
Here is another example:
Georgia House Speaker David Ralston was quoted when talking about ballots being mailed to Georgia Voters: “This will be extremely devastating to Republicans and conservatives in Georgia. Every registered voter is going to get one of these…. This will certainly drive up turnout.”
There is no question that Republican Party Voter Suppression is real and We The People need to vote in the upcoming Primary and General elections and please consider helping us in our effort to Ditch Mitch on November 3rd!!
